Dear Parents and carers,
Welcome to a new school year at Liberty, where your children will be embracing all that our Reception classes have to offer. We would like to say a warm hello and welcome to all our new children and their families. Our aim is for you all to feel valued and a part of the Liberty Primary School experience.
What Will Your Child be Learning this Term?
This term the children in Elm Class and Fir Class will be learning about ‘Ourselves’ and this will cover all areas of their learning.
To assist us with your child’s developmental progress we have a few handy hints:
- Mark making
- Name writing
- Letter and sound recognition
- Number and value recognition
- Sounds all around us
- Asking and answering questions
- Visits to the library
- Creative play
- Encourage exploration
Reminders:
All children need to attend in Liberty Primary School uniform. Please ensure that you label all of your children’s clothing, as they are less likely to get lost.
NO Products containing NUTS are allowed to be consumed at anytime during the school day this also includes packed lunches
In Reception we will be taking part in P.E. lessons every Tuesday and Thursday. Your child will be expected to bring full Liberty Primary School P.E. kit on these days. Kits are available for £10.00 from the school office.
We will be reading with your children one to one on a specific day once a week. You will be informed of these days by letter and also through wall displays in class. Please ensure that your child brings their book bag to school with them on that day, as it is an essential part of your children’s academic development.
We are very happy to speak to you about any concerns when our doors open at 8.50am. However, our learning begins promptly 9.00am. Alternatively if more in depth discussions are required, appointments can be made to speak to a member of staff after school.
We would also be grateful for a contribution of a box of tissues and £1.00 towards the cost of play dough and cooking ingredients this term.
Looking forward to a happy and settled term ahead of us! |
