Remote Learning (Online learning)
We are working hard as a school to set up a new online learning package for children to access at home, especially in the event of another lock down or due to the need for children to self-isolate. We have already taken steps with this and are sourcing new equipment and receiving training.
Our plans involve using a platform called Google Classrooms. This will enable work to be set by teachers, completed and returned by children and marked by teachers. There is also a chance for children to interact with each other through a chat function – although this needs to be looked at more to ensure safe and appropriate use. Liberty staff are currently being trained in the use of Google Classrooms and the school community is being set up to use the platform. The children and parents will then need teaching on how to use it before it can be rolled out and used more widely.
Until Google Classrooms is ready to be used, our plans are to set work through Oaks Academy and through our website. This work will be available from 22nd October.
